There’s no denying it’s been a long and tough winter for many. That is why, now that spring has arrived, we think it’s worthy of celebrating! Get outside and take advantage of all the beauty (not to mention sun and warmer temperatures) that spring has to offer. From eating on an outdoor patio to planning a picnic, check out this list of ways to enjoy spring in Victoria.

Eat on an Outdoor Patio

Now that the warm weather has set in, several restaurants have reopened their outdoor patios. This makes it not only more enjoyable, but also safer to dine out in Victoria this spring. Popular restaurants with open patios include Canoe Brewpub, The Drake Eatery, and Il Covo Trattoria. While several eateries offer covered patios, it might be a good idea to check the weather forecast in advance. Choose a sunny spring day and enjoy an afternoon soaking up the welcome spring weather!

Plan a Picnic

There are so many scenic parks in Victoria, which means it’s a great city to enjoy a picnic. As yet another way of getting outdoors, why not plan a picnic this month? This low-cost, low-key idea is great for everyone from groups of friends to families to couples. Now that the BC government is allowing small outdoor gatherings, enjoying lunch at a park with your friends never looked so good. Some of our favourite parks include Saxe Point in Esquimalt, Beacon Hill Park, and Clover Point Park (also a great spot to watch the sun set).

Visit Butchart Gardens

Most Victoria residents know that the famous Butchart Gardens is open year-round. However, the best time to visit is definitely in the spring, before the crowds descend but after many of the stunning flowers are in bloom. The Gardens are open 7 days a week, with tickets being sold on-site only. Prices range from $2.00 for children to $27 for adults.

There’s no better time to visit Victoria than in the spring. If you’re going to be here in March or April, we’d love for you to book a room at the Days Inn Victoria on the Harbour and take advantage of all that spring has to offer in beautiful Victoria.
