Celebrate the Magic of Christmas

With updated COVID-19 protocols in place, the Magic of Christmas will light up your night with thousands of Christmas lights. Starting on November 26 and going on until January 6, bundle up and enjoy a festive walk in Butchart Gardens. Spot the 12 Days of Christmas displays scattered throughout the festive garlands and thousands of twinkling lights. Stop by Butchart Garden’s coffee shop for a hot chocolate and gingerbread cookie after taking in the scenery.

During Christmas, the Japanese and Mediterranean Gardens are closed. Ice skating, the snowflake exchange, festive brass, carollers, and the annual Light Up will not be happening this year. Admission is from 3:30–9:00 pm, with viewing available until 10:00. Tickets are timed entry and cost $33 for adults, $26.50 for ages 13-17, and $3 for children 5-12. Tickets are available before the event online; please arrive within 10 minutes of the designated entry time on your ticket.

Have a festive chuckle

O Christmas Tea-A British Comedy has delighted and lifted thousands of theatre-goers every holiday season. Off-Broadway Comedians James and Jamesy’s delightful show will be at the Royal Theatre, 805 Broughton Street, Victoria, on December 19, at 3:00 pm and 7:30 pm. For anyone who enjoys Monthy Python, Dr. Seuss, and Mr. Bean, this immersive, hilarious theatre event is a must-see. Tickets start at $29.50 and can be purchased online up until one hour before the performance start time.

See Santa

The Cottage at Uptown is hosting a traditional Christmas Cottage visit with Santa. Six family members at a time can get their photos taken. Photos with Santa are $35, and Santa will be available from November 24 to December 23. Masks are mandatory inside the Cottage and can only be removed for your photo. Children will be able to visit Santa from six feet away, and Santa will also be wearing a mask apart from when the photo will be taken. Tickets include a 10-minute visit with Santa and two digital photos sent in the email provided. There will be no option to purchase additional photos in person.
