Enjoy the sun in Victoria

  • June 18, 2018

The sun is shining in Victoria! It’s only still spring, but it might as well be summer here. Come join us for a getaway and enjoy the MAGNIFICENT weather we’ve been having! Here are some excuses to visit if you need more convincing.

VICTORIA SKA FESTIVAL

Admit it. You like ska. Maybe you even LOVE ska.
Ska might not be the coolest sound around these days, but there’s something about those jumpy rhythms, the infectious upstrokes and those shining brass that makes ska absolutely undeniable. That sound has found a home in the Victoria Ska and Reggae Festival, taking place June 20-24 at various venues throughout the city.

Featuring acts like The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Ozomatli, The Western Standard Time Ska Orchestra, and reggae artist Freddie McGregor (among many, many others), this is your chance to brush out your white patent leather shoes, suspenders two-tone suit and dance to some undeniably FUN music.
It’s a great time every year. Get over yourself and get into some ska.

CANADA DAY

As one of the oldest communities in BC, Victoria shares a history with Canada! That’s why every July 1, Victoria comes alive with national spirit celebrating the birth of Canada!
Victoria prides itself as a great destination for families, and that’s especially true when pull out the stops for Canada Day! Visit the lawns of BC’s Parliament Buildings for fun activities like face painting, festival games and more! Tour the harbour and enjoy live music in the fresh Pacific air! Watch spirited performances by some of Victoria’s best buskers and street performers, eat cotton candy and generally have a great time!

Victoria’s harbour is always alive with people, but July 1st is definitely THE time to check it out!
You’ll find Victoria’s finest accommodations at the Days Inn Victoria on The Harbour. Just steps away from the waterfront and downtown Victoria, we’re your portal to the best the city has to offer. Book your stay today!
