Are you a sharp-dressed man? Do you have legs and know how to use them? Whatever your answer, get excited for Victoria this April!
The tres hombres, the two dudes with the beard and the fella NAMED Beard are coming to Victoria! ZZ Top are legends. Recently featured in a documentary called ZZ Top: That Little Ol’ Band From Texas, these Texas troubadours have been playing deep, powerful blues-rock for as long as that genre has existed. Their lead guitarist, Billie Gibbons, is one of the best that’s ever lived. He’s toured with all the greats, including the Rolling Stones and even Jimi Hendrix, and they all give him props for his incredible ability to marry blues riffs with powerful and dirty expressiveness. Their bassist, Dusty Hill, is one of the best in the business; he knows how to put a great song into overdrive. Frank Beard the drummer is rock solid behind the kit, churning out steady beats like the steady churn of a hot rod’s engine. Together they have redefined the sound of rock and roll so many times it looks like they’re not even trying.
But that’s not all! They’ll be joined by none other than Cheap Trick. You may or may not know Cheap Trick by name, but they’ve penned some of the most memorable hits of the 70s and 80s, including “I Want You to Want Me,” “The Flame” and more! They’re the ultimate pop-rock band and at any other time would be headlining the arena themselves.
ZZ Top and Cheap Trick are coming to Victoria’s Save On Memorial Centre on April 29. Don’t miss out! There’s so much to see in the refreshing and clear air of Victoria’s downtown harbour. Book a room at Days Inn Victoria on The Harbour and you can even bring your furry friend to stay in one of our pet-friendly rooms!
