If you’re looking for a reason to visit the beautiful picturesque city of Victoria, you’ve picked a great season to do so. With many craft markets, special events and holiday-themed performances happening on this particular weekend, you won’t need much convincing to hop on the next ferry and book your seats for these fun and great holiday events!  

 

Nutcracker with Ukrainian Shumka Dancers and the Victoria Symphony

Although there are many different productions of The Nutcracker with many varied interpretations of the story and choreographic arrangements, there is one resounding message of love and peace. This year, the story of the Nutcracker is being told with the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers and the Victoria Symphony. Shumka Nutcracker is the perfect blend of grace and lyricism of classical movement combined with the strength and power of Ukrainian folk dance. This retelling of the classic tale of Clara and her dream Prince will be showing at the Royal Theater (805 Broughton Street, Victoria) from November 29th to December 1st. Tickets range from $49 - $105.

 

Sidney Sparkles Christmas Parade

If you haven't kicked off the Christmas season yet, here's your chance to get into the Christmas Spirit and start enjoying the festivities! On December 1st, at 5 pm, come and join in on the annual Sidney Sparkles Christmas Parade! The parade route begins on Resthaven Drive, running along Beacon Avenue and will end at Ocean Avenue. Afterward, everyone is invited to the Sidney Waterfront, around Beacon Park, where the Lighted Boat Parade will shortly commence. Be sure to get there early, as large crowds will be waiting in line to enjoy this whimsical show. The best part, it’s FREE ADMISSION! Bring a blanket, chairs, and someone special to enjoy it with and experience the magic of the season!

 

Nerdy Days Of Christmas Craft Fair

Is Christmas your favourite Holiday? Do you love arts and crafts? The Nerdy Days of Christmas Craft Fair is perfect for you! For two days only, November 30th and December 1st, Market square will be host to the Christmas Craft Fair, showcasing arts, crafts, cards, gifts, totes, soaps and so much more! Get your Christmas shopping started here (If you haven't already), or maybe pick up the last few items remaining on your Christmas shopping list. Either way, its a lot of fun for the whole family and you will be supporting a great cause! 100% of the proceeds will go to the Victoria Hospital Foundation for the Victoria General Hospital NICU. Admission to the Christmas Craft Fair is by donation and starts from 10 am to 4 pm.
