CIRQUE DU SOLEIL: CORTEO

Whenever anyone tries to describe Cirque Du Soleil (literally “circus of the sun”), they tend to use words like “incredible,” “awe-inspiring,” “dream-like,” and “fantastical.” Many shows are “awesome” or “fantastic” – Cirque Du Soleil IS awe and IS fantasy. For decades, they’ve been the leading dream engineers in the world, crafting the most profoundly affecting combinations of art, athleticism and storytelling that have ever existed.

Cirque’s latest travelling show, Corteo, is no exception. Allusively telling the story of a clown imagining his own funeral procession, Corteo is full of warmth, wit, and wonder, filled to the brim with live music, 51 acrobats, and singers and actors from all around the world. Corteo has already shown to 8 million people in 64 cities in 19 countries on four continents, and from October 4 to October 7, it will play at Victoria’s Save On Memorial Centre.

The marathon is one of those achievements that many people keep on their bucket list. Register now to race on October 7, and don’t worry – if you’re not up to the full marathon, there are plenty of other options for getting out and getting active!
