155th ANNUAL VICTORIA HIGHLAND GAMES & CELTIC FESTIVAL

Victoria has a long history, and part of that history includes the Scots who came to BC’s Capital in the 19th Century – and that’s why you have the beautiful, longstanding tradition of the Victoria Highland Games.

That’s right, Victoria has been putting on this event for 155 years now – for those keeping track, that means this festival is older than Canada Itself.

On Saturday, attend the free parade through downtown Victoria as all the clans put on their best tartans and play the pipes and drums – but don’t stop there! There will be music and arts performances throughout the weekend, as well as demonstrations of traditional dancing and sword-fighting, athletic competitions like the caber toss, and a performance by the award-winning Simon Fraser University Pipes and Drums band.
